Matty James – Bob Marley Tribute
In memory of Bob Marley (6 February 1945 – 11 May 1981), HangoutCollab‘s Matty James performs Jammin. We had him on Hangout Collab S01E02 when we were talking about Songwriting Process’ and when he went to perform a small section of his song in memory of his great music on his anniversary date of his death, he was instantly kicked out of the hangout LIVE. It was quite a bummer but we all ended up getting a laugh out of it in the end, he tried coming back but we are guessing Google didn’t let him back in because of it, even though he had rights to play it. He is planning on getting with the Marley Family about it to try to get things corrected because we all felt it was wrong to be kicked out because of it, but anyway. No worries…. Be Happy! Thats exactly what Bob would want us to all feel!

Robert Nesta “Bob” Marley, OM (6 February 1945 – 11 May 1981) was a Jamaican singer-songwriter and musician. He was the rhythm guitarist and lead singer for the ska, rocksteady and reggae band Bob Marley & The Wailers (1963–1981). Marley remains the most widely known and revered performer of reggae music, and is credited with helping spread bothJamaican music and the Rastafari movement to a worldwide audience.
Marley’s music was heavily influenced by the social issues of his homeland, and he is considered to have given voice to the specific political and cultural nexus of Jamaica.His best-known hits include “I Shot the Sheriff”, “No Woman, No Cry”, “Could You Be Loved”, “Stir It Up”, “Get Up Stand Up”, “Jamming”, “Redemption Song”, “One Love” and, “Three Little Birds”,as well as the posthumous releases “Buffalo Soldier” and “Iron Lion Zion”. The compilation album Legend(1984), released three years after his death, is reggae’s best-selling album, going ten times Platinum which is also known as one Diamond in the U.S.,and selling 25 million copies worldwide.

Hangout Collab S01E01
“Freestyle till the song is made”
In this episode Damien gives an understanding at a way of songwriting and freestyling through the music using tools to loop your ideas with as you get started. This episode he shows a little bit of Ableton Live. Towards the end of the episode he talks about some other ways that he will show you he uses to create music using your smart phone. We had a great first live event last night and into the early morning that went well. I Just wanted to thank everyone that took part in it and especially to Mr Maddox for his streaming services. We gained a new member to the collaboration as wel, which is Russell Babbitt, a great folky street musician that had alot of great songs and stories period about life and living it period. We had a decent amount of people visit to view and we will continue with the motions of getting this thing from the ground to the sky, and the sky isn’t the limit these days so who knows what planet our Hangouts will end up on.
